DCL Mooi Madoem

Madoem was acquired by Christo in north Georgia where the owner told him, "If you can catch him, you can have him." After two days of pursuit, he was caught, he jumped out of the round pen and had to be caught again. Christo loaded him, brought him home, and trained him himself. He has become one of the farm favorites for his sweet nature, soft eye and super smooth gaits. He is a full 15.1 hands and is a super athlete, very strong and very fast but also well-behaved under saddle. He is full brother to our foundation mare, Mooibegin, sharing her royal pedigree that goes back to 10 of the world's most influential stallions. He began his endurance career in 2007, completing a few limited distance rides with ease carrying a heavyweight rider. He will carry a heavyweight rider in 50-milers in 2009 and is an exceptional 100-mile prospect with his good nature and very smooth gaits.

DCL Mooi Kwela (aka Sey More Proof)

Kwela is a race bred colt by the famous NF Proof, full brother to Sey Spottsproof. He proved himself capable on the race track, then was discarded and picked up by Christo in Texas in a cost-of-transport arrangement. He was in very poor condition at that time, with awful feet and low weight but still sound with very clean legs. For the first time in his life he was pastured and allowed to relax and be a horse for a couple of years while being nursed back to good health. With a lot of TLC he has learned how to accept attention and affection and make a connection with his rider. He began his endurance career in 2007 and has proven his worth, getting stronger by the day in his first LD pioneer ride. He is sensible and not spooky under saddle, but very competitive and very, very fast. We have great hope for him as a competitive 50-mile horse and a potential 100-miler. He is 15.1 1/2 hands.

DCL Mooi Koedoe

Straight Egyptian
Koedoe was purchased as a 3-year-old stallion at an impound auction. He was selected for his strong Egyptian pedigree, was nursed to good health, and has sired two nice fillies, DCL Mooi Donderslag and DCL Mooi Minnares, found on our Youngsters page. In 2007 Koedoe was gelded, then started by our friend Mark Elliott. He is an exceptionally smooth ride, very athletic, strong, and level-headed under saddle. He has a very low working heart rate, even carrying a heavy weight rider. He has great feet and stands 15 1/2 hands. He will begin his endurance career in 2009.

Penny is a half sister to our stallion CD Chino Jaheen. Her dam is our broodmare Amber Star. Penny is 14.2 hands with good, strong feet. She is beautiful and an honest worker, carrying a heavyweight rider with ease. She is confident and level-headed under saddle with extraordinarily smooth, powerful gaits. She is a trustworthy mount, easily ridden by a 12-year-old who is new to endurance. She has foaled one filly, DCL Mooi Minnares, by Koedoe. Penny will begin her endurance career in 2009 and is an excellent 100-mile prospect due to her natural athleticism and very smooth, fast trot.
