Rabdan

Rabdan
1996 Gelding, Grey
Egyptian/Crabbet
Endurance miles:  1040
Limited Distance miles:  130

Rabdan was acquired from the same Texas cattle ranch as our stallion CD Chino Jaheen and our mare Pretty Penny.  He was never registered but was by the stallion AK Sir Rabdan, a Shaikh Al Badi son.  He is the clown of the farm, always into mischief to keep his very intelligent mind occupied.  He has a friendly personality, is proud and confident.  He is a very strong, solid horse, having carried Christo, a heavyweight rider, through many 50-milers over three years of competition. He is an extremely comfortable ride and can be relied on to either take care of a junior rider or race for top ten with an experienced rider.  It was these characteristics that led us to purchase our stallion CD Chino Jaheen among other horses from the same Texas cattle ranch.  We strive for tractable personalities with strength, endurance, and smooth gaits in all the horses we own.

Red Dog

Lucius (RedDog)
1996 Gelding, Bay
Egyptian/Polish
15.1 1/2 hands
Endurance miles: 2055
Limited Distance miles: 270
Best Condition Awards: 15

RedDog was bred by Godolphin Racing Stables in Florida and was given to Christo as an out of control rogue by a south Texas Baptist preacher.  Christo trained RedDog himself to be handled and ridden.  He began his endurance career as a 5-year-old in 2001 carrying a Heavyweight rider in Limited Distance rides.  Christo and RedDog won the Central Region's LD Best Condition Award in 2002, their first full year in endurance together.  Moving to the Southeast region in 2003, RedDog went on to complete more than 2000 Endurance miles carrying both Heavyweight and Lightweight riders.  In 2005 he began doing 100-milers, having completed four to date.  In 2006 he finished second at the National Championship endurance ride with a time of 5:44 at Old Dominion. He is a fierce competitor with a very fast, incredibly smooth trot - truly a joy to ride. His disposition is friendly and confident, with always a spring in his step.  He is a favorite around the stable.

Speelman

Famoso EA (Speelman)
1995 Gelding, Bay
Russian/Polish
16 hands
Endurance miles: 970
Limited Distance Miles: 215
Best Condition awards: 4

Speelman had been shown at Scottsdale as a yearling, then purchased by Christo in Houston, Texas.  He was very spooky and very slow to mature.  Christo trained him and started endurance with him in the Southeast region in 2004 in Limited Distance.  He began doing 50-milers in 2005, with several top ten placings, firsts in tough mountain rides, and won several Best Condition awards over the last three years.  He has successfully carried heavyweight, middleweight, and lightweight riders.  He is a well-mannered, easy to ride, strong, athletic horse who stands a full 16 hands.  He is currently being ridden by a 14-year-old.  We look forward to starting 100 milers with him in 2009.
